You can use your Samsung Galaxy S3's Gallery App as a portable portfolio of your pictures, including ones you take on other devices. The Galaxy S3 can connect to a home PC and act like a flash drive or external hard drive to transfer pictures. Copy pictures to and from your phone and computer by accessing the photo directories on the phone and its memory card through your devices' File Explorer interface.

Boot up Windows on the home PC and turn on the Samsung Galaxy S3 phone.

Connect the smaller Micro B end of the USB cable to the charging port on the Galaxy S3.

Connect the larger Type A end of the USB cable to an open USB port on the computer.

Wait for the AutoPlay window to pop up, and then choose the 'Open device to view files' option.

Select the 'Phone' directory from the File Explorer window. You can chose the 'Card' option instead if you have a memory card installed.

Open the 'Pictures' folder and leave the window open.

Open a new File Explorer window, and then locate the pictures you want to add to the Galaxy S3 on your computer.

Select the pictures you want to add to the Galaxy S3 from the computer's File Explorer window, and then press the 'Copy' button on the shortcut bar.
9.
Return to the Galaxy S3's File Explorer window and press the 'Paste' button on the shortcut bar.
10.
Wait for the file transfer alert window to disappear, signifying the completion of the picture transfer to your Galaxy S3.

Disconnect the USB cable from the PC and Galaxy S3 after the file transfer has completed. The phone now scans the memory for new data and adds the pictures to the gallery.
Tips
- You can make subdirectory folders while within the phone's Pictures folder in File Explorer on the PC. You can use the subdirectory folders to sort your pictures. The Galaxy S3 will then automatically scan the subfolders for picture content to add to the Gallery App.
- You can increase the number of pictures the Galaxy S3 can hold by installing a micro-SD memory card. The memory card slot is located underneath the phone's back cover.
- You can also use this process to copy pictures from the phone to your home PC -- just change which folder you're copying from and which folder you're pasting to.
Warnings
- Thousands of pictures can take up a significant amount of the phone's memory to the point where it will affect the ability of the Galaxy S3 to install apps, which must be installed on the internal memory. Add a micro-SD memory card to the Galaxy S3 and store the pictures on it to reduce the amount of space you're using on the phone's built-in memory.
- Images in the bitmap format take up many times the amount of space as a similar image in the JPEG format.
